Ponziano Prandi
Founder and Managing Partner, Ponziano has built up his experience in international EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) activities and projects in Egypt and North Africa.
From 1985 to 1990 he worked in Egypt and Iran as Branch Manager of CimiMontubi (a Company of the IRI Group).
From 1991 to 2014 he was Area Manager for Egypt and North Africa of the Techint Group of Companies; during this time the Group took on important projects in the power and petrochemical sectors, such as 14 Power plants and one of the largest (1,3 MTY ) Methanol Project of (750 MUSD) in Egypt.
He joined the Maire Tecnimont Group in early 2015, firstly as Egypt Area Manager and then, from May 2016 until December 2021, as Vice President of the North Africa Region (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt).
In view of the virtues he has demonstrated in promoting Italian activities in the region, in the year 2000 Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi bestowed on him the title of “Knight” of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, and in the year 2006 President Giorgio Napolitano endowed him with the title of “Commander” of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
Since 2001 he has been a member of the board of SIB, the Italian organization which owns the Italian Hospital Umberto 1 in Cairo, and since 2006 he has also been a Member of AMCham (the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt).
Giovanni Bianchi
Chief Operating Officer, Giovanni Bianchi has more than 40 years of site and project management experience in the construction of large industrial projects, initially in Italy and Germany and then in Syria, Libya and Egypt mainly in the Power, Steel, and Petrochemical sectors.
Giovanni started his career in the seventies at CimiMontubi Italy , the leading Governmental Construction Company , where he gained an important expertise in the construction field. Then from 1997 until 2016 he worked in Egypt as a Project Site Manager for Techint Group, one of the largest Italian EPC companies. Some of his career highlights include the commissioning of ten Power Plants built in Egypt, as well as the Petrochemical Damietta Methanol Plant.
From 2016 until 2020, prior joining FLC, he also worked as a Project Manager for PGESCO, the National Joint-Venture between Bechtel US and the Ministry of Electricity of Egypt, where he was Responsible for the overall coordination of twenty-four International suppliers and EPC contractors and he has successfully completed the commissioning of (3 x 650 MW) South Helwan Supercritical Power Plant.
